TAA Compliance: Modernsolid Products Manufactured in Taiwan

TAA Eligibility Status
All Modernsolid products are manufactured in Taiwan, a TAA-designated country under FAR 52.225-5. Modernsolid Industrial Co., Ltd. is a Taiwan-registered manufacturer established in 1989, with all production facilities located in Taichung, Taiwan. No manufacturing operations are conducted in countries excluded under the Trade Agreements Act.
Federal agencies, government contractors, and GSA schedule holders can specify Modernsolid products without country-of-origin conflicts.
Basis for TAA Eligibility
The Trade Agreements Act (19 U.S.C. § 2501–2581) requires that products purchased under covered US federal contracts be manufactured, or substantially transformed, in the United States or a designated country. Designated countries include WTO Government Procurement Agreement members, Free Trade Agreement partners, and certain least-developed countries, as defined in FAR 52.225-5.
Taiwan was added to the designated country list in 2009 following its accession to the WTO Government Procurement Agreement, and has remained on the list since. Products manufactured in Taiwan, therefore, meet the country-of-origin requirement for TAA-covered federal procurements.
Manufacturing in Taichung, Taiwan
Modernsolid has run its own production facilities in Taichung since 1989. Die casting, CNC machining, powder coating, and final assembly are all performed within Taiwan's production facilities. Nothing in our core manufacturing process is outsourced to non-designated countries.
For procurement purposes, this removes the need for a substantial transformation analysis. The country of origin is Taiwan at every stage of production.

- Certificate of Origin: Issued per shipment or per product model, confirming Taiwan as the country of manufacture.
- TAA Compliance Letter: Specifies that the named Modernsolid products are manufactured in Taiwan under FAR 52.225-5, and have not been substantially transformed in any excluded country. Suitable for solicitation responses and contract documentation.
- ISO 9001:2015 Certificate: Covers the quality management system governing all production at our Taichung facilities.
- RoHS and REACH Conformance Records: Available per product line upon request.
